What engine powers the F-150 Raptor R?
At the heart of the Raptor R you will be able to find all of the power and capability that you could ever be in search of. That’s why we want to get right to the point of it all and ensure you understand just how much power you will be getting with the F-150 Raptor R. This pickup truck comes with a standard supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine, which can output as much as 640 pound-feet of torque and 700 horsepower. This is the most powerful engine in the Ford Performance lineup, and has only ever been previously seen with the Mustang Shelby GT500. That tells you everything you need to know about the kind of power on display here. This engine has been recalibrated with a new pulley to help optimize this engine for off-roading capability thanks to the increase in torque delivery. Let’s just say, no matter what you’re looking for out of your truck, this engine has what you need.
What does the F-150 Raptor R have for off-roading?
You need much more than just a reliable and powerful engine to get you all of the off-roading capabilities that we know you are demanding. That’s why the Ford F-150 Raptor R really has had every angle completely covered. The base transmission and driveline have been completely upgraded to ensure that it can handle smoothly no matter where you are going. This ten-speed SelectShift transmission has improved calibration, which means you don’t have to worry about a thing. Other integral aspects of this truck include the new front axle, a larger-diameter aluminum driveshaft, and even a specifically tuned torque converter. We also want to mention the five-link rear suspension that comes with extra-long trailing arms to maintain a better position no matter the terrain. You’ll even gain advanced FOX live valve shocks, and wheel travel of up to 13 inches in the front.
What is the design of the Raptor R?
No discussion about this new truck is complete without checking out more information about the design elements that really make it stick out. The Raptor R was created with you, the consumer, in mind, and the unique styling that is offered further drives home that point. You’ll be able to find this truck with an aggressively styled power dome on the hood, an iconic Ford grille, and even fender flares that have been painted black for a menacing look.
