Ford offers two different engines for the 2019 EcoSport. The standard engine for the EcoSport S, SE, and Titanium models is a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine. The turbocharged engine pumps out 125 lb-ft of torque and 123 horsepower. The sportier SES model comes standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine which is optional for all other trim levels makes 166 horsepower and 149 lb-ft of torque. The SES model comes standard with all-wheel-drive which is optional for all other models. Both engines come paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

2019 Nissan Kicks Power & Handling

Only one engine is available across the entire Nissan Kicks model lineup. That engine is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes mated with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Only one drivetrain is available for the Kicks model lineup. That drivetrain is front-wheel-drive.

2019 Ford EcoSport Features & Design

The EcoSport comes in four different trim levels which range from the base model to a sporty model and even a luxurious model. The base S comes with a removable cargo floor panel so you can keep your valuables out of sight, a cargo cover, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker sound system. The SE model then tacks on heated front seats, smartphone integration, rear parking sensors, roof rails, a sunroof, and windshield wiper de-icer. The sport SES model features a heated steering wheel with wheel-mounted paddle shifters, an 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, leather upholstery, black exterior styling elements, and a rear spoiler. The range-topping Titanium tacks on heated mirrors, a 10-speaker B&O Play sound system, navigation, a heated steering wheel, and leather upholstery to the SE models equipment list.

2019 Nissan Kicks Features & Design

Just three different trim levels are available for the 2019 Nissan Kicks. The first and base trim level is the S which comes standard with cruise control, Bluetooth, roof rails, three USB ports, a backup camera, and automatic headlights. The mid-level SV adds on heated mirrors, remote start, a cargo cover, smartphone integration, automatic climate control, and body-painted mirrors. The top tier SR model rounds out the features list with a rear roof spoiler, upgraded cloth upholstery, foglights, and LED headlights. You can outfit the SR model with the SR Premium package which comes with heated front seats, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, and simulated-leather upholstery.

Conclusions

When you compare these two models side by side it is clear to see that the 2019 Ford EcoSport is the better vehicle. The Nissan Kicks falls behind by not offer all-wheel-drive and by only offering three trim levels that aren't well-equipped.
